Infrared Illuminators

Infrared illuminators (or IR illuminators) are used when ambient light is either not present or too dim. If an IR camera's IR array is too narrowly focused or not strong enough an external IR illuminator can provide an extra source of invisible infrared light. Many black and white cameras are sensitive to infrared light, whereas only certain color cameras have a the ability to switch to black and white mode in low light conditions.
